Dry Needling

Dry needling is a safe physical modality utilizing a thin filiform ‘acupuncture’ needle, used to ultimately reduce pain and disability, and enhance the healing process.

Spinal Manipulation

Spinal manipulation is a skilled manual therapy technique that involves quick movements in a small range of motion with subsequent cavitations of the spinal joints resulting in reduction in pain.

McKenzie Method

The treatment principles promote the body’s potential to repair itself and allows patients to learn principles which empower them to be in control of their own symptom management.

Manual Therapy

What is manual therapy? The term “manual therapy” refers to hands-on treatment of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. Human touch is essential to our treatment philosophy and approach.

Therapeutic Exercise

Therapeutic exercises are specific exercises, movements, or stretches meant to correct problems of the neuro-muskulo-skeletal systems.

Neuromuscular Re-education

Neuromuscular re-education is a therapeutic technique that is similar to balance training and can be used to improve balance, strength, posture, proprioception and restore normal pain-free movement.

Modalities

Modalities are simply adjunct therapies to promote pain relief, improved tissue healing, decreased swelling, and neuro-muscular function.

Sports Therapy

Through 3D training you will return to what you enjoy faster and with a much greater decrease in probability of recurrence.

Balance Training/Fall Prevention

We especially like working on balance with the elderly simply because it is a skill that many of us can keep and actually improve during our adult life.

What our patients are saying...

After a knee replacement, I went to Great Lakes for therapy.  I’m just about done but will be coming back after my other knee replacement. Coming to Great Lakes is like coming home.  Everyone know you by name when you sit down next to someone they introduce you to each other, they listen when things come up and help you each step along the way and explain what you are feeling as you are going through the healing process.  I just love going there because it seems more like fun rather than work.
